Optical observations
This web page is intended to collect astrometric measurements of the Phobos-Grunt spacecraft, especially during the launch and separation phase.
Trajectory prediction information for observation planning is in the Ballistics subchapter (including ground-track plots) and is also on the website ssd.jpl.nasa.gov whose "Horizons" system may be used to compute topocentric Phobos-Grunt tracking predicts for a specific observing location.
To upload astrometric data it is necessary to go through registration procedure, or login to the system if you already registered. Measurements in standard 80-column format are appreciated!
In addition your optical observation data you may send by e-mail.
To aid prospective observers Ted Molczan have made a dedicated MS-Excel spreadsheet to generate ephemerides for the passes in the vicinity of South America at the time of the engine burns.
